Raymond Nelson Mayo, affectionately known as Ray, left an indelible mark on the investment casting industry with his pioneering work and dedication. Ray embarked on his journey in the industry shortly after World War II in 1946. As a design engineer, he had the privilege of collaborating with esteemed figures such as Frank Whittle, the renowned inventor of the jet engine.
Ray was among the first engineers to embrace the revolutionary investment casting process imported from the USA post-war. His career saw him traverse various investment casting foundries before assuming leadership at the Grubber lost wax foundry in Hemel Hempstead in 1958. In 1967, fuelled by his passion and vision, Ray established his own foundry, Maycast Precision Products Ltd.
Meanwhile, Peter R. Mayo, born in December 1963, followed in his father’s footsteps, inheriting a deep-rooted affinity for the investment casting realm. With a career spanning over 37 years, Peter’s expertise in investment casting equipment is unparalleled. Having grown up immersed in the industry, he possesses an innate understanding of wax and ceramic core injectors, making him a globally recognized authority in this domain.
