Mayo Fluidized Beds & Blowers

Fluidized beds represent a solution for rapid and efficient stucco coating in the shell manufacturing process. They facilitate the swift buildup of shell thickness, making them ideal for shells with intricate geometry. Moreover, fluidized beds boast a smaller footprint compared to equivalent rainfall sanders, making them invaluable in environments where space is limited.

Fluidized beds are customisable to meet the unique needs of investment casters, with each model designed for seamless integration into automatic control systems, including robotic based systems.

To maintain operational efficiency, clean-out ports are incorporated, with options for manual or automatic cleaning systems, in order to remove contaminants and maintain the bed’s effectiveness. For added convenience, an optional automatic cleaning system includes a sand filtration unit that removes agglomerations, enabling the reuse of decontaminated stucco.

The bed features multiple plenum zones, ensuring uniform distribution of pressurized air across the entire bed area. A sensor integrated into the pressure plenum interfaces with the control system to ensure the bed operates at the correct pressure. If conditions are not met, in robotic application, the dipping of the shell is prevented.

Various turbine blowers are available, matched to specific bed sizes and media types. The blowers we use are equipped with fixed or variable flow control to optimise fluidisation and minimise temperature build-up in the stucco.

For dust containment, a built dust collection hood utilises low pressure to contain dust, facilitating easy removal and preventing contamination of the shell room. This canopy enhances the overall cleanliness and environment of the shelling area.
